June is PTSD Awareness Month – Living With a Combat Injured Veteran
I recently found a very insightful blog authored by 3 spouses of combat wounded veterans, called Living With a Combat Injured Veteran – When the War Comes Home. The authors offer very personal accounts about the challenges facing veterans and their families when they return home from combat with injuries. The site addresses many topics, including the VA backlog, the fight to keep paying the bills when you are waiting for the VA to decide a claim, traveling with a wounded veteran, and many more.
The 3 authors – Lindsay, Nicole, and Brooke – are to be commended for offering a perspective we do not often see publicized. All 3 were married to Marines who were deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. We wish them the best.
